Requirements on high manganese steel liner process are: alloy composition, shape, size, surface quality of casting, and if the carbide grades of casting are up to standard. In addition, the casting shall not affect the strength and appearance of ball mill liner, with casting hardness at 197~228HB after heat treatment, and mechanical properties and inclusions can meet the requirements of ball mill high manganese steel liner.

Use GW-1-500J frequency induction melting, and emphasis on coverage and protection of liquid steel. Molten steel needs to be stood aside, which is good for the floating upward of inclusions and gas in molten steel, improving metallurgical quality and regulate the pouring temperature.
After the cooling process, the casting needs to be loosed, to ensure good sand collapsibility and safe shrink of castings. Open the casting box when casting temperature is greater than 400 degrees.
There are two methods for water toughening process: General water toughening and direct water toughening. General water toughening makes sure carbide in steel to be dissolved in austenite and spread evenly, reducing the possibility of carbide precipitation. Direct water toughening is applied to parts in great need.
